Election returns listing names of candidates and number of votes cast for each, mostly in township and borough elections held in the spring. Officials elected include supervisors, constables, justices of the peace, school directors, assessors, auditors, clerks, and election officials. A few county-wide elections for auditors, commissioners, directors of the poor, and county surveyor are also represented, as are ballot results from various townships in the 1840s on the question of whether or not to establish a school system. Also includes a few tally sheets for elections, petitions for redress or appointment when election results were questioned or tied, oaths of election officials and those elected, lists of voters, and certificates of election. Arranged chronologically, then alphabetically by municipality. Handwritten, and (beginning in 1840) handwritten on printed forms.
